Curatorial and Condition Assessment - Flying Wheel

Artfully was engaged by Sunshine Coast Council to undertake a curatorial and condition assessment of the artwork Flying Wheel 1996 by artist Michael Foley located in the Railway Modellers Park, Nambour. The condition assessment included the engagement of Long View Consulting Engineers to undertake a structural assessment. Curatorial research was conducted into the history of the work involving interviews with relevant stakeholders such as The Railway Modellers Society, the Nambour Museum, Council heritage library, Nambour Tram Company, and the Foley family. A set of recommendations for conservation and maintenance treatments, attribution / interpretation and accessioning were provided.
