The City of Moreland was offered a donation of a bronze statue of historical figure John Pascoe Fawkner created by artist Michael Meszaros. Artfully was engaged to undertake an assessment of the donation offer, including: donation assessment recommendations; statue's condition assessment and valuation; potential sites for locating the statue within the city; reinstatement and maintenance cost estimates; artwork appraisal, commemorative and place value, including historical context of the portrayed figure, the contemporary context of memorialisation and the global anti-monument movement. Artfully also undertook consultation with a range of stakeholders, both internal Council and wider community, including First Nations stakeholders, recorded and summarised in a separate report.
